If you are creative and have a penchant for science, the Google Science Fair 2011 might be just the thing for you.

In partnership with Lego Group, CERN (European Centre for Nuclear Research), Scientific American and National Geographic, Google is now looking for unique and creative scientific ideas cross the globe. This is the first and foremost science fair that allows students to demonstrate their most ingenious scientific ideas and to showcase their talents.

If you are between 13 to 18 years of age, you can enter this contest as an individual or as a team of two or three. All you need is to have internet connection and you can sign up for a Google account to enter the contest.

Scientist in China is talking about “complementary material” that has amazing optical properties that cancel each other. This makes it look as if no material is there. The United States Army is using a device that will soon going to become a universal interpreter. IraqComm, which is developed by SRI International, is being used by them. It is basically language translation and speech recognition software. It transforms the language, like for example from Arabic and then translates it into any other language like English etc. A similar device is being developed at Carnegie Mellon University, located at Pennsylvania.
These technologies are bound to create a revolution soon.

The electronic revolution is on the go. The world has changed a lot since the introduction of mobile phones, internet, TV’s etc. One of the latest emerging technologies is a device called Prism 200. This device can detect people even through a brick wall. It is a briefcase sized system which functions by transmitting pulses of ultra wide radar and returning echoes. You can hear the voices through walls as thick as 16 inches and the range is anywhere from 40-50 feet.
Another great invention is Erwin Biebl’s radar sensor. This device was developed in Technical University of Munich, located in Germany. This device can detect even minutest of human movements. It uses a Doppler radar to sense the movements.
Meta materials are another great invention. These are made up of electric components that interact with light and then send light in a desired direction. The basic idea is to steer light around an object.
